This slideshow by default, has several pictures of the area in which the realtor works in.

If you would like to change the pictures in the slideshow you can provide us with the pictures or pay us to find the pictures.

If you choose to find them yourself, please make sure they are at least* 270 pixels tall, by 980 pixels wide.

Once you acquire the pictures you would like in the slideshow you can then email them to us at [support@profileyourcity.com](mailto:support@profileyourcity.com "support@profileyourcity.com"). We then charge 1/2 hour ($37.50) design time to implement the pictures into the JavaScript slideshow.

When your IDX account is activated, a number of tools and web pages
are generated that you can integrate into your web site or provide as
links.

For a list of those pages, go to Account Management Page Links.

Most will appear as active links that you can click to follow. To view property-type specific links,
click the + under the Basic Search, Advanced Search or Featured Properties links.

The
links provided under Page Links are the basic tools for making IDX
Broker work for you. Get familiar with the tools provided and choose
the ones that best fit the needs of you and your customers. Once you've chosen your tools, copy and paste those into your website, either as external links in your site menu, or as iframes. For additional help with this, including example code snippets, please see our guide.

In IDX, your "featured properties" are those MLS listings associated
with your agent ID (for a single-agent account) or your office ID (for
a multi-agent account). These properties are displayed on your Featured
Properties page (featured.php) and are also the properties that will be
included in any syndication links, slideshows, or showcases you are
using. These tools will automatically pull your own listings and should
never require a manual update, unless your MLS ID changes or you
upgrade from a single-agent to a multi-agent account. By using the
Featured Properties tools, you can give your own listings better
visibility.

To add a Featured Properties page to your website, just place the Featured Properties link from your Page Links
anywhere in your site navigation. You can also use your featured
properties with the Slideshow Settings and Showcase Settings tools
available in the Widgets menu of your control panel.

You also have the ability to place your featured properties at the top of all search results. Go to My Preferences Global Preferences. Scroll down to the Results Page Options, and select Yes for Feature My MLS Properties on Standard Results.

You can also set other options for your featured properties on the Global Preferences page. The fourth section of the Global Preferences page applies to your featured, supplemental, and sold listings pages.

To display property photos, select Yes for Show Property Thumbnails.

Select Yes to display the refinement search form - a small search form that lets you narrow a results set.

Select how to sort properties on these pages.

Select Yes to break long sets of listings up into multiple pages, and select how many to display per page.

Select Yes to display supplemental listings on featured and/or sold properties pages.

Select the sorting order of properties on the featuredOpenHouses.php page.

Click Save Changes when you are finished.

Step 1:

In order to create your first post, you will need to login. Enter the username and password given to you by clicking the “admin” link.

Step 2:

After you login you should see a page that looks like this. (Click on image to view a larger version). This is your dashboard. Click on the link that says “Posts”.

Step 3:

After you click on “Posts”, click on the “Add New” button right under ‘Edit’.

Step 4:

You will now be able to create your own post. Enter the title in the top bar and the content into the large section underneath. If you are fluent in HTML you may choose the ‘HTML’ tab above to write your post. Or usually the easiest option is to choose the ‘visual’ tab. You can write your post without any complicated code, in WYSIWYG format.

Step 5

Finally, you can publish your post by clicking the ‘Update’ button.

In order to control the map display on your IDX pages you can go to the
Map Options feature located under MY PREFERENCES GLOBAL
PREFERENCES in the IDX Control Panel. This controls the global map
settings throughout all IDX map search and results pages

Google Map Key
- In order to use the Google maps API, Google requires that each
account have a unique map key which makes you subject to their terms of
service in exchange for using this free mapping service. In most cases
this is not something you will need to modify unless you change your
primary domain name within your IDX account.

All Results Page Maps
- This yes/no field gives you the ability to turn on or off the display
of a map alongside your search results. Turning this off for larger
results pages with over 100 listings by default is helpful in order to
reduce overall page load time for the end user.

Display Google Map On - This allows you to selectively turn on and off the maps on specific results pages.

Map Behavior
- This controls the map display on the results pages only (not map
search). The options are to display all properties on the map that
were returned from the search or only those that display on the active
page. Many times searches will result in multiple pages and this will
help reduce load time if you select to display only those mappable
properties on that specific page, instead of the entire results set.
This section also lets you set the default view; Terrain, Map, Hybrid
or Satellite.

Map Search Center Location - Note: The myAgent iPhone Application uses this to determine your location for application users who press "Get an Agent ID". When your account is first setup by your account rep the center point
for your map search page is set on your address listed in your
account. This may or may not be the area in which you want to center
your map search by default. In the event that you want to modify the
default center point, you can enter a specific latitude and longitude
of that here. If you don't know the latitude and longitude, not to
worry, we provide you a handy little lookup tool here as well based on
address.

Map Search Defaults
- This feature allows you to control the default search values (i.e.
number of beds and baths) for each property type available within your
MLS data. This also allows you to set the default number of properties
to display in the active search window at a given time.

Use Search Control Palette
- We supply you with a search control palette that is a little
different than the default Google controls. If you don;t want to use
these controls and prefer the default style you can turn this feature
off.

Map Zoom Level - This allows you to set the default zoom levels for the results and map search pages independently
When your IDX account is activated, a number of tools and web pages
are generated that you can integrate into your web site or provide as
links.

Once you have selected a limited group of Agents, or all Agents, choose Round Robin contact routing. This will route leads to your Agents either by alphabetical ascending or descending order, custom order, or simply at random.

Please note that in order for your group to receive Round Robin leads, you will need to move your Agents from the left column to the right column.

Select Core Fields in order to route leads by geography and/or by price:

In addition, to CC a primary email address for every lead that is routed via round-robin or core fields, you may do so by entering one or more email in the CC box. Separate each email address with a comma. To make this available, provide the Email Updates Signup link found under Account Management --> Page Links.

Before making this link available, you will want to set up your Email Update Options under My Preferences --> Global Preferences. The sixth section of the Global Preferences page allows you to set options for automatic email updates to leads:

Enter the address that should display in the From field of the emails.

Select to receive carbon copies or summaries of email updates.

Enter the address to receive carbon copies. This field will only support one email address.

Click Save Settings when you are finished. On multi-user accounts, agents will see many of these same options, and be able to set them up for updates to their own leads, when they edit their bio page.

You can also customize the appearance of the email updates by using a page wrapper and/or subheader. To add a page wrapper (which works similarly to stationery in other programs), go to Customize --> Page Wrappers --> Lead Pages --> Email Updates. To preview what your email updates will look like to your clients, select your email address at the left and click the Send button.

Active Listings are those listings in the
MLS data that are associated with you or your office, are currently for
sale, and can be displayed in the IDX data on your website. You can
view and manage active listings by going to Listings Active Listings.

You can search your active listings by expanding the search form at the top of the page.

View and edit details about a listing by clicking the pencil icon to the left.

View and edit photos associated with a listing by clicking the icon to the right.

Add virtual tours and open houses by clicking the icons in those columns.

At the bottom of the add or edit form for a listing, you will see a box labeled Display? This must be selected for a listing to display on your website.

When
you edit a property, you can also add a custom price and description.
These custom entries will override updates in the MLS data.

Note:

There are several reasons why a property may not display in Active
Listings. Properties that have sold, are pending sale, have expired or
have an unknown status will not appear. Properties managed by agents
not associated with your account will not appear. Any properties that
were not included in the MLS data will not appear. If you think there
is an error in the MLS data, please contact your MLS.

Virtual Tours
To add a virtual tour, click the icon in that column by the desired property. Set Virtual Tour Enabled to YES, enter a URL and text link for the tour, and the height and width the tour popup should appear. Click Save Changes. You must have a pre-existing URL for a virtual tour.

Note: In many cases, a virtual tour may be automatically linked to a property by the MLS, requiring no action on your part.

Open Houses
To enter an open house, click the icon by the desired property. Set Open House Enabled to YES, enter the dates and time, and click Save Changes.

You have the option of exporting your leads for importing into Top Producer using the Top Producer 8i Import Tool.

Please note that IDX Broker offers full Top Producer integration for all new leads that sign up, or that you add to IDX Broker. If you haven't already activated Top Producer integration, please do that now. Note that the 8i Import Tool may still be required in order import your existing (not new) leads into your Top Producer account.

To export your leads, follow the directions below:

Go to Lead Management > Export Leads.

Save the CSV file in a folder.

Open the CSV file in Excel or some other spreadsheet application in order to edit/review the fields.

If necessary, save your edited file.

If you have a Top Producer subscription and need to import leads into the Top Producer system, please use the Top Producer import tool described on this page. Please note that IDX, Inc is not affiliated with Top Producer and cannot provide support for the Top Producer import tool.

Add Photos to Active Listings

Summary

IDX Broker offers the ability to temporarily "override" MLS photo and listing information. Agents use this feature in cases where a listing may have dropped in price mid-day, or if new photos need to be added prior to the next day's MLS data pull.

Please note that:

Custom information and photos added to a listing record in IDX Broker DOES NOT modify the listing record stored with the MLS. MLS data is "push" only.

This feature is designed to be a SHORT TERM solution in cases where a mid-day price or change in listing status needs to be communicated to visitors to your site.

To revert to the MLS supplied data for a listing, simply remove the photos and any other manually added details.

To Add a Photo

You may either upload a photo, or link to the url of a photo that you are hosting on your website:

Once you have uploaded a photo, you can drag-and-drop the photo into a new order position.

Move your cursor to the photo's Title bar.

Hold down the left mouse button.

Drag and drop the photo up or down to change the order of the photos.

Or, drag and drop the photo into the first position to assign the photo as "Primary".

Click the "Confirm Changes" button in order to move the listing and photos to "Supplement Properties".

Supplemental mode is not permanent. You may revert back to MLS mode at any time via Supplemental Listings Management.

You can choose to:

Manually validate their email to allow them to view properties.

Call them to confirm their search results (assuming that a phone # was provided).

Review statistics to determine if the visitor looked at specific property types.

Login as the visitor, and review their search results.

Revise their search results.

Customizing Email Updates:
Before making this link available, you will need to set up your Email Update Options under My Preferences --> Global Preferences. Enter the email address that should appear in the From field. You can also enter an email address to receive a carbon copy or a summary report of these emails.

Note that email updates DO NOT pull from your global wrapper. You will need to create a separate email specific HTML wrapper for the updates that are sent on on your behalf. In order to customize and preview what your email updates will look like to your clients, go to Customize --> Page Wrappers --> Lead Pages --> Email Updates. Once you have your custom HTML added to the wrapper, you can send yourself a test email update by selecting your email address at the left and clicking the Send button.

Click here for a video demonstration on Registration Options.

Modify map location of featured listing

When adding custom information to a featured listing, as described here, you can enter a new latitude and longitude for the listing. This can be useful if the property has an address not recognized by geocoding services, no address at all, or is simply displayed incorrectly on results, map search, or details page maps, or in the iPhone app. To get started,

Click Listings in your IDX control panel.

Click the address of the listing in question.

Toward the bottom of this edit screen, enter the correct latitude and longitude.

Click Submit.

If the listing has a mappable address, you can use a service such as iTouchMap to obtain the correct geocode.Another option is to use Google Maps:

Go to http://maps.google.com

Zoom in to the area where the listing should appear.

Right-click on the desired position of the listing and click Center Map Here.

Click the Link button at the top right of the map, and copy the link within the "Paste link in email or IM" field. Paste this into Notepad or some other text editor.

Toward the end of the link, find a string which looks like this:
&ll=32.324276,-96.767578
This is the latitude and longitude to use for the listing.

Look up at the top of this web page.

Above
the page you will see the "location
bar" of your web
browser, which should contain something very like this:

http://profileyourcity.com/support/kb/article/000065

The first part of the address is called
a 'protocol identifier' and it
indicates what protocol to use.

Generally this will be 'http'
or 'https'

The second part is called a 'resource
name' and it specifies the domain name (which is the
website name) where the resource is located. The protocol identifier
and the resource name are separated by a colon and two forward
slashes ('://' eg:

Essentially a url is just an address to
a webpage, just as '2590 Northbrook Plaza
Drive' is the address to our office building.

Here are six examples of the
most-common URL appearances

Example: http://profileyourcity.com/

Example:
http://www.profileyourcity.com/

Example:
http://downingfryerealestatecompany.com/index.php

Example:
http://homes.downingfryerealestatecompany.com/idx/4643/details.php?idxID=188&listingID=209041247

Cryptic? Perhaps, but outside of the
strange acronyms, URLs are really no more cryptic than an
international long-distance telephone number.

A
URL Spelling Lesson

Here are some simplified rules to start
your URL habits right:

a.
A URL is synonymous with "Internet
address". Feel free to interchange those words in
conversation, although URL makes you sound more high-tech!
b.
A URL never has any spaces in it.
c.
A URL, for the most part, is all lower case.
d.
A URL is NOT the same as an email address.
e.
A URL always starts with a protocol prefix like "http://",
but most browsers will type those characters for you. Nerdy point to
note: some other common Internet protocols are ftp://,
gopher://, telnet://,
and irc://. Explanations of these
protocols follow later in another tutorial.
f.
A URL uses forward slashes (/) and dots to separate its
parts.
g.
A URL is usually in some kind of English, but numbers are
also allowed.

History: URLs have existed for
only 15 years now, and already There Are Billions.

In 1995, Tim Berners-Lee, the father of
the World Wide Web, implemented a standard of "URIs"
(Uniform Resource Identifiers),
sometimes called Universal Resource Identifiers. The name later
changed to "URLs" for
Uniform Resource Locators.

The intent was to take the idea of
telephone numbers, and apply them to addressing millions of web pages
and machines.

Today, an estimated 30 billion web
pages and Internet transmitters are addressed using URL names.

Receive Summaries Or Copies Of Outgoing Email Updates

This feature allows you to receive carbon copies or summaries of

email updates at an email address other than the account's primary

contact. If blank, emails will be sent to the primary contact.

The summary email will provide a brief list of all the emails that were

sent out that day on your behalf.

The summary email will look similar to the the following:

Lead #12: (1 total matches in 1 searches)
Name: Mark Smith -- Email: marksmith@aol.com
1) [ Perform Search ] (1 results)

Lead #13: (1 total matches in 1 searches)
Name: Scott Jones -- Email: jones@yahoo.com
1) [ Perform Search ] (1 results)

Lead #15: (5 total matches in 2 searches)
Name: Jim Bob -- Email: jim@gmail.com
1) [ Perform Search ] (3 results)
2) [ Perform Search ] (2 results)

IMPORTANT

NOTE: The links to "Perform Search" in the above emails are date based

and will only show you the properties sent to your lead for the same

day they are sent out. For example, if a lead is sent a new listing

alert on Monday and they had one match, but you click through on the

link to see the property sent on Wednesday, it will not return the same

set of results. This simply performs a search based on listings for

that specific date, so you will want to keep that in mind when viewing

these daily reports in your inbox.

To Enable This Feature Follow The Below Instructions:

Go to 'My Preferences' > 'Global Preferences'.

Scroll Down To 'Email Updates Settings'

Choose 'Carbon Copy Type'(You can receive summary of all updates sent or a copy of each update sent).

Fill in the 'Carbon Copy Address' field with the email address you would like the copies or summaries sent to.

Syndication Options

Your IDX Broker account includes several syndication tools for publishing your listings to third-party websites. To access these, go to My Preferences --> Syndication in your control panel.

Here you will be turning xml links on or off. Each xml file is tailored to the syndication sites' specifications, which are unique for each company. Generating an xml link here provides you with a URL to submit to the company in question, but does not automatically submit the feed on your behalf.

To syndicate to any website, select the checkboxes to turn on the links. To include supplemental properties in the feed, select the second checkbox for each feed as well.

Once enabled, your syndication links will generate during the next update. Syndication links are updated once daily.

Once the links generate, you will need to submit them to the sites you have chosen. The only site that IDX Broker will automatically syndicate to is the Real Estate For Sale Network. All other syndication sites will require you to go through their submission process. (NWMLS customers have one exception; once you have entered a username and password for your Realtor.com feed, you will be able to automatically submit to Realtor.com.)

The submission process for each site will be unique, and may change from time to time. Links to each site are provided within your control panel. Click those links to go to the syndication site, log in to your account with the syndication service or create a new account, and then follow their step-by-step instructions to submit your xml link. In most cases, once you have submitted your link, the syndication service will check that link daily for updates, and no further action will be required from you.

An exception to this is the Google Base syndication. Google requires a unique domain name for each syndication link, so you will not be able to submit the xml link for automatic syndication. To send Google Base a one-time submission of your properties, right-click your Google Base xml link and save the file to your computer. Then log in to Google Base and upload the physical file.

Your syndication tools also include a standard and advanced <a class="HelpLink" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="showHelpTip(event, '<b>RSS</b><br><br>RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. The basic RSS feed can be provided to your site visitors or others, allowing them to subscribe to your new listings. It may also be accepted by other syndication sites who will accept a standard RSS feed.

The advanced RSS feed includes non-standard fields and will generally not be readable by RSS readers. This feed is a tool for advanced developers who wish to parse this listing information on their own as a way to populate custom tools on their website.

Note: Syndication links will only include your own listings, and will generally match the listings displayed on your featured properties page. Some syndication services do not support all propety types. If you do not have any featured listings, you will not be able to use syndication services.

The priority ordering for generated leads is as follows:

System Assigned Lead

– Once a lead has been assigned an agent in the admin control panel,

that lead will stay with that agent until changed within the admin

control panel. No other level (including agent cookies) will override

this.

Agent Bio Cookie – A persistent cookie

is set if a visitor accesses any IDX page on your site with an agent's internal ID appended to it. For example:
http://yoursite.idxco.com/idx/CID/basicSearch.php?agentHeaderID=1
This is particularly useful if the agent is referring visitors to a search form on their company's site from a personal site or through email, so the agent can generate leads through the company's account without requiring their own personal account.

Listing Owner – If

a new lead has not been assigned an agent or come in through an agent

bio page, then the next priority is by listing ID. If a lead contacts

you about a specific listing and that listing is owned by an agent in

the system, the lead will be sent to that agent.

Contact Routing

– If a lead does not meet any of the above criteria, then leads will be

distributed per the contact routing options available in the Lead

Management section in the admin control panel.

Account Email – If none of the above classifications are met, then all leads will be sent to the primary contact email on the account.

Introduction

Welcome to IDX Broker, and thank you for choosing our service!

IDX,

or Broker Reciprocity, is the sharing of listings between members of a

Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and the policies governing who can

display this shared data. With IDX Broker Pro software, this MLS data

can be easily integrated within any qualifying broker or agent’s

website. IDX Broker updates, formats and displays this data daily and

automatically, without any maintenance on your end.

You

control what information displays, how the search tools look, and the

format for client access. Your customers and potential clients benefit

from the ability to search for properties defined by their personally

chosen criteria, saving them – and you - valuable time. In addition,

visitors to your site have the option to receive emailed property

updates, save their searches, and locate the perfect property with a

variety of search functions. You have access to lead management tools,

detailed traffic reporting, and options for customizing the

presentation of MLS data within your website. And that’s only a small

glimpse at the functionality of an account with IDX Broker.
